Is there an online tutorial about home recording and sound engineering?
I am interested in place for different types of raw sounds (vocals and acoustic Guitar mainly) to their attractiveness and / or suitable for a particular genre. I did not have any professional software, but as far as I experimented with Goldwave, Multiquence (for multi-track mixing), and Adobe Soundbooth. Is there an online tutorial explains (preferably) in legal terms, how to achieve certain effects? For example, add, (what kind of impact and at what level) on the style in order to sound so like Elvis In the ghetto, or Beatles Yesterday's? Setting Echo and reverb parameters randomly does not seem to do the job for me no matter how much I experimented. Perhaps a combination of reverb / echo and otherwise makes the Job … any ideas?
I do not think that there is something online that would do the trick. But you can certainly buy tutorial books for certain software. I would recommend at Cubase, Pro Tools or Tracktion. They are fairly well known software in the music industry and are used by many professional studios. Thus, for this software there are a lot of tutorials and books with DVD's containing that show how to change the title and provided with effects. As always for the specific Sounds that you are looking for, I'm not familiar with them. Note, however, that there is more than just delay and reverb effects. EQ's are also really great when optimizations Singing.
